I want to inform you of the great work that The Brotherhood has done in the
Santa Barbara community, and to solicit your support
This year The Brotherhood again helped carry out the dream of the
continued recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., by playing a significant
role in the festivities on MLK Day. Our members emceed and helped
coordinate the pre-march festivities at De La Guerra Plaza, and we helped
lead the march down State Street. We took on a huge responsibility for the
on stage production at the newly remodeled Granada Theatre. Over the last
18 months we have also engaged the community through a Cultural Arts
Festival during Black History Month. We have given continued support to
various Black History Month activities, and we have sponsored community
forums on race relations. All of these highly successful endeavors were
provided at no cost to our community.
The Brotherhood has reached a milestone in its growth and development, in
that we are no longer able to sustain our activities without additional
financial help from community members like you. We have a proven track
record on responsible activism in our community and we now need your
help. We are trying to raise $8,000 to help us along our paths of community
involvement.
We ask that you help us by clicking on the donation button to your left,
filling out the form for a tax deductible check in the suggested amount of $
40.00, although any donation would help us reach our goals.
We thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
William Spencer, President
The Brotherhood of Santa Barbara
